Things to Keep you Going, Keep you Healthy, and Keep you Sane during the Holidays

Hey friend! I have created two Young Living product lists for this time of year (Essentials for the Holidays and Kids Essentials for the Holidays)  These products are some of the ones that I feel are essential to help keep you going, keep you healthy, and keep you sane with what always seems like a jam packed month of to-dos, obligations, events, parties, activities and gatherings. I have separated these into three categories: practical needs for the drier weather of winter, nutrients for immune support and defense, emotional support for holiday challenges.

Practical Needs

Lip balm and lotion for everyone! Whether you are an adult or kid these two things can help you manage the drier weather of winter.  We live in a very humid climate but it doesn’t seem to matter as soon as the temperature drops a little cooler, my and my kids lips get chapped and in need of some love.  Young Living has some of the best lip balm without any of the harsh chemicals that actually dry out your lips more than help.  The ingredients in this lip balm make it so you eventually don’t need the lip balm anymore instead of making it so you become dependent on it. All you have to do is decide on what scent/flavor you want.  Keep in mind that the Vanillamint is seasonal and only while supplies last. Young Living has a lot of different lotion options to choose from but these are my favorite.  Actually I probably use the Seedlings baby lotion the most but I love the fresh smell of the Lushious Lemon and it brings some sunshine during the drearier winter days. And don’t forget your hand sanitizer, one that will not dry out your hands but nourish them instead.  Safe for kids even if their fingers go in their mouth but harsh against the ick that can be picked up.

Nutrients

Give me all the vitamin and nutrient support, especially with busy schedules, late nights, more sugar, more potential stress and less sun. But make sure they are high quality otherwise you are just pouring your money down the toilet…literally.  The best thing about Young Living supplements and what sets them apart from any other is that most of them are infused with essential oils which increases the bioavailability (effectiveness and absorption) of the vitamin.

First Ningxia Red, this is daily whole-food nutritional support and essential for everyone including kids. This powerhouse supplement is packed full of antioxidants and nutrients that our bodies desperately need!  All you need is 1-2 oz a day and you will notice a difference.  Just choose between the bottle or the to-go satchels or you can pick a combo of the two. ;)

Next is vitamin C, pick whether you want a caplet or chewable option.  Vitamin C and immune health are almost synonymous. Vitamin C prevents pathogens from entering cells and works as a free radical scavenger to reduce cellular damage, plays a role in skin health, essential for the growth and repair of tissues, for healing wounds, and for the repair and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth. And so much more!  I have also included Super Vitamin D because there is less sun during the winter and the need to supplement becomes more important.

Can you be proactively defensive? If so that’s how we want to help our immune system…and YL has a few products that do just that. Inner Defense is just what the name suggests - a defense and protection from all that today's world can throw at us! This powerhouse blend of essential oil supports the immune and respiratory systems, making it a wonderful addition to your health routine either for daily use or for when your defenses start to go down! My favorite way to use this is if I start feeling like I am dipping under my wellness line that night I take two before bed and always wake up feeling good.  Another supplement to take at night is Immupro, this one has melatonin in it, which helps you get into that REM sleep where your body can repair, restore, and reinforce the front lines. And of course I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Thieves Essential oil, your immune systems number one supporter…diffuse it, wear it topically and even take the Vitality version internally. Our favorite way to use Thieves other than in the diffuser to knock out any airborne ick, is to roll it over the spine and bottoms of feet in the morning and/or before leaving the house.

And last but not least…digestion support because your health starts in your gut.  This time of the year is when we splurge on the dessert and eat the foods we might not normally eat so do not forget your Essentialzyme-4 digestive enzymes, Life 9 probiotic or Mightypro prebiotic/probiotic and of course Digize or Tummygize oil for any upset stomach (just roll it on around the belly button and notice an immediate difference).

Emotional Support

Give me all the essential oils that invoke courage, joy, gratitude, and help combat stress. Do I really need to say anything more…you can wear these on your wrists and neck, or you can diffuse these through your home. And don’t forget the oils that help the kids calm down and sleep…take on new situations with confidence.
